1) How long have you been involved with Team Fight?
This will be my FIRST year with Team Fight!
2) How did you get involved with Team Fight and the Ulman Cancer Fund?
I met Katrina through the Mid-Maryland Triathlon club 2 years ago. I had been involved with Team in Training when I lived in Colorado and I really wanted to be involved with an organization that gave back to the community. My husband coached for Team Fight last year but I was pregnant with our son. I knew I wanted to be involved with Team Fight this year.
3) What is your favorite race on the Team Fight schedule and why?
The Half Full olympic distance triathlon! This will be my first year racing Half Full. I am really looking forward to this race as I have heard so many great things about.
4) Tell us more about you…
I ran my first marathon in 2003 and loved the training and structure it added go my life. I completed my first triathlon in 2005 and was hooked. I was new to the area at the time and triathlons provided me with a great social network of people who loved the same things I did. Triathlons are also how I met my husband, Adam. We have 2 children – Charlotte is 2 and Griffin was born last August.
5) What are you most looking forward to for Team Fight in 2012?
I am really looking forward to meeting new people and getting back into triathlon after having my kids. I am also looking forward to being involved in a cause that gives back to the community. A friend of mine passed away at the age of 39 from lung cancer even though she had never smoked. Her son is the same age as my daughter. So many times I look at Charlotte and think of Tammie and all the special moments she does not get to experience with her son. By being involved with Team Fight I hope to raise awareness of situations like Tammie’s.
